Thoughtful, layered, worth your time
I don't usually reach for this genre, which made the experience even better. The imagery is specific rather than decorative, and it sticks. Worth every hour.

Our best discussion this season
This was my commute book and it made me miss my stop twice. The pacing is deliberate — scenes are allowed to breathe, and that patience pays off. I'm hoping the author writes more like this.

Read it in two sittings
I picked this up for our monthly circle and finished it long before the meeting. The author trusts the reader, which is rarer than it should be. A slightly tighter edit in the second act would have made it perfect. It sparked our longest discussion of the year.
